Responsibilities & Qualifications



TekSynap has an exciting opening for a Director Growth Initiatives with a focus on developing new business with customers that include the Intelligence Agencies and selected DoD Agencies or Unified Commands.

  • Develop and win opportunities focused on the following service areas; Mission Services, Enterprise IT/Cyber, Applications Development and Management, Staff Support, Mobility as well as moving us into Leading Edge Technologies.
  • Leverage TekSynap's prime capabilities and contract vehicles (CIO-SP3, GSA MAS, etc).
  • Position reports to the Chief Growth Officer and will drive the organization’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining and understanding of customers’ most important needs and creating/ leading winning capture strategies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of business development to include strategic capture, proposal operations, pricing and partner strategy that leads to between 8-15 Prime proposals per year with a total value of between $50-80 million in total award value.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of leadership experience working to provide Professional Services in the defense sector
  • Experience in leading professional services captures and being responsible for the full life cycle of opportunity capture; Business Development, Capture, Pricing and Competitive analysis
  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing Civilian services business
  • Understanding of Civilian contracting opportunity ecosystem and customer requirements and trends
  • Understanding of Large, Mid-Tier and Small Business partners as it relates to teaming
  • Exceptional understanding of the Federal sales cycle; must have exceptional communications and writing skills; must be goal oriented and accountable to perform and achieve assigned growth objectives; must have the ability to develop and work with teams and manage others to accomplish goals.
  • Understanding and experience with major GWAC/IDIQ’s such as CIO-SP3, GSA Alliant, Oasis, etc. with a desired understanding of GSA FEDSIM
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
  • Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior/mid level officials and program stakeholders with the Customers and partner base
  • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company's growth strategy
  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market
  • Excellent writing, communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
  • Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities and enjoys a high-Optempo environment
  • Proven experience working with geographically diverse teams; strong coaching and mentoring skills. Proven ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries to achieve results through others.
  • Possesses the skills and ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization
