Enterprise Architect

TekSynap is looking for an Enterprise Architect to support the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) Information Operations Enterprise Enclave (IOEE) and Information Operations Secure Enterprise Enclave (IOSEE) program.  It is a core network backbone which provides Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity between the DLA Headquarters, its various field activity sites, depots, and forward deployed locations within the Continental US (CONUS) and Outside Continental US (OCONUS). The IOEE/IOSEE is a Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) consisting of core hub sites, aggregate sites, and remote sites supporting over 35,000 users. It consists of multiple Ethernets, T-carrier, and satellite links that support the critical business applications, data, and communications needed to accomplish DLA's mission of supporting our nation's warfighters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Enterprise Architect performs a variety of network engineering task including but not limited to the below.

  • Provides high-level architectural solutions and designs.
  • Validate and ensure functionality of IOEE/IOSEE systems and equipment prior to deployment to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
  • Support by providing strategic direction and objectives recommendations for the program, including development and recommendations of dynamic key business elements such as:
    • Technology enhancements
    • Program organization and communications, functions, staffing
    • Program schedule updates
    • Recommend enhancements to risk management, testing, deployment, and training.
  • Provide recommendations to address any identified performance issues or enhance existing IOEE/IOSEE systems and equipment.
  • Proactively evaluate and identify potential performance issues with production network equipment.
  • Review existing processes and procedures and analyze against industry best practices; identifying areas of improvement.
  • Provide briefings to the customer on technology trends and emerging technologies which will ensure the current network or security posture.
  • Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise.
  • Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.
  • Gather, document, and review functional and technical requirements.
  • Provide analysis, business case development, and proof-of-concept design and build activities to support the incorporation of new and emerging technologies.
  • Advises on feasibility of potential future projects to DLA Leadership.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions designed to enable next generation network capabilities.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have AWS and Azure cloud experience.
  • Minimum five (8) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience in the below list of technologies.
    • Deployment of WAN networks
    • 802.1x/Network Access Control
    • Reverse Web Proxy and Global Load Balancing
    • Web Content Filtering
    • DNS, DHCP, and IPAM Services
    • Remote Access VPN
    • Wireless LAN and Intrusion Detection
    • Network Support for Virtual Desktop (thin and zero client solutions)
    • Voice over IP
    • Streaming Video & VTC
    • Check Point firewalls (GAiA   and IPSO Operating systems)
    • Check Point Multi-Domain Management and Global Policy
    • NMS Tool Suites (SNMPv3, Authentication, Logging, Policy Compliance)
    • MPLS Architecture, LSP Planning & Optimization
    • Market Research for Emerging Technologies
    • SATCOM Engineering Support
    • Develop and submit ECRs, ITRs, NSO requests, after action reports, as-built diagrams, test plans, and test reports.
    • Tier IV troubleshooting of NTS tickets.
    • DR/COOP Planning and Support

 

Security/Certification Requirements:

  • Must have Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility.
  • Must have active CCIE.
  • Must have firewall experience.
  • Must have CCSA or CCSE.
  • Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications:
    • CASP+ CE
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP (or Associate)
    • GCED
    • GCIH

Overview

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency in Springfield, VA.

 

This position is in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).  DLA is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Information Operations Enterprise Enclave (IOEE), Information Operations Secure Enterprise Enclave (IOSEE) located enterprise wide at multiple DLA locations. This position is intended to support the Enterprise Telecommunications Network and Cloud functions by exercising skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies.
