Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for rapid response to network emergencies, including outages, security breaches, and critical incidents.
  • Conduct urgent break-fixes and respond to high-priority incidents to meet mission needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with the JNOSC Core Engineering Team, Service Restoral Team, Tactical Local Area Network Encryption (TACLANE) Team, Service Response Team, and the MAC team.
  • Manage network connectivity at all VIP/GO quarters within the scope of JSP's responsibility.
  • Implement and manage network connectivity and transport across all classification levels.
  • Install, maintain, and remove equipment in accordance with JSP-approved standards and architecture drawings, including encryption devices, VoIP devices, VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipment.
  • Perform life-cycle maintenance for all transport devices and supporting equipment.
  • Manage patching and cabling for JSP devices located in VIP/GO quarters.
  • Prepare a Monthly Report detailing all work performed by the Rapid Response Team.
  • Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure that the network can meet the needs of the organization.
  • Apply current and emerging network design principles and protocols to design, implement, and maintain enterprise networks.
  • Extensive experience in network engineering and administration, particularly in urgent incident response and crisis management scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of network connectivity, transport, and infrastructure management across various classification levels.
  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and removing network equipment according to industry standards and architecture drawings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches
    • 3+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks
    • 3+ years DoD environment
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent (Required)
    • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Certifications:
    • At least one nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches.
    • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III
      • CASP+ CE
      • CCNP Security
      • CISA
      • CISSP (or Associate)
      • GCED
      • GCIH
      • CCSP
  • Clearance: Must possess a Top Secret/SCI clearance
