Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installation services:
    • Unboxing equipment
    • Prepare equipment for installations
    • Prepping equipment for configuration
    • Transporting new equipment to install location
    • Remove old equipment
    • Patching cables to new equipment
    • Transporting old equipment
    • Sorting old equipment into piles as per the guidance of onsite staff
  • Rack equipment based on established procedures and design.
  • Connect all cabling and peripherals to network switches.
  • Understand the types of equipment and connectors required to install the switches.
  • Understand fiber optic cabling types and connection methods.
  • Label cabling using established methods and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot layer 1 connectivity issues.
  • Have a basic understanding of the power requirements for equipment that is being installed versus equipment being replaced.
  • Understand how to replace equipment with minimal service interruption.
  • Document various aspects for the replacement of equipment.
  • Clean up work area (sweep, throw away trash, etc)
  • Provide before and after pictures of installation areas to include Racks
    • Closeup showing switch
    • Showing full rack
  • Lift 50-75 lbs - Be able to rack/unrack a network switch
  • Be required to drive between local site locations (drivers license)
  • Submit Daily Activity reports

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience  
  • Successful passing of VA HIGH BI background check
  • Valid state drivers license with proof of insurance
  • Must complete and pass two stage TB testing
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must reside within the continental United States
  • Must be willing and able to travel 50-75%
