Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. 
  • Projects long range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.  
  • Includes database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection. 
  • Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a web-based environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.  
  • Advises users on access to various web-based databases. 
  • Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. 
  • Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front end /backend programming languages (e.g., SQL). 
  • Performs database programming and supports systems design.  
  • Maintaining information assurance (IA) security documentation and artifacts for SQL databases. 
  • Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle PL SQL, SQL, SQQ Lite, T-SQL, MS Access. 
    • At least three years hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems.  
    • Familiarity with technical controls in the Risk Management Framework, as they apply to SQL databases. 
    • Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.  
    • Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database. 
    • Minimum TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance. 
    • Active Computing Environment Certification: MS SQL Server 2016 and up (Desired) 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements and provide innovative solutions. 
    • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams towards achieving project goals and deliverables. 
    • Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
    • Conduct root cause problem analysis and develop technical solutions to problems. 
    • Guide & Support Junior level personnel.
