Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in tandem with Deputy Director, other Proposal Managers, Capture Leads, and other stakeholders in the planning, development, and completion of federal and DoD proposals.
  • Writing and developing proposal content. Note: This function is not limited to coordinating the proposal process and editing contributor inputs; you are expected to create proposal content from baseline information and write original content responsive to the RFP through research, interviews with subject matter experts, and understanding of our messaging and value proposition.
  • Interviewing subject matter experts and solution architects and crafting findings into compliant, compelling, and relevant content for Government proposals.
  • Leading and/or participating in proposal meetings and reviews with internal and external stakeholders including teaming partners, senior company leaders, and subject matter experts.
  • Preparing clear and concise briefing materials for senior management.
  • Developing proposal outlines, compliance matrices, proposal schedules, and providing direction to leadership and cross-functional teams assigned to work proposal efforts.
  • Analyzing proposal documents for quality of the proposal for reviews and final delivery by performing rigorous quality assurance and compliance checks on draft and final documents.
  • Leveraging the entire Microsoft suite of applications to ensure proposals are compliant with presentation requirements and visually appealing.
  • Coordinating and managing color reviews and determining and executing recovery plans.
  • Managing and tracking multiple proposals, including solicitation amendments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience managing proposals for Federal and/or DoD customers or five (5+) years of professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Communications, Writing, Information Technology, Government Contracting, Marketing, Management) with demonstrated ability to write and format professional communications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Foundation in Shipley Proposal Development and Business Development methodology preferred
  • Experience developing prime proposals with teams of subcontractors preferred
  • Experience developing winning proposals for contract valued at $2M or greater is preferred

Overview

As an emerging large business, TekSynap is seeking a Jr Proposal Manager and Writer to create compliant, detailed, accurate, compelling, and clear written proposals as an essential element of our opportunity capture strategy. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of progressive experience in various areas of proposal development and management. The individual will be extremely comfortable working as the “go-to” person in leading and administering our entire proposal process for your assigned opportunities. Seeking a background which shows success executing the conventional duties of proposal management (analyzing and writing RFI/RFP responses, managing schedules, etc.) as well as operating at a highly strategic level with senior business leadership. Strong research, evaluation/analysis, writing, and attention to detail are critical to this role.

 

The role of Junior Proposal Manager is a critical one at TekSynap. You will be responsible for multiple new business opportunities at the same time. You will coordinate and optimize activities across proposals and between content contributors, and manage through shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, and last-minute requirements, which may require off-hours work to accomplish tasks for a proposal deadline.
