Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management; 
  • Demonstrated excellence in planning, directing, and managing IT projects/operations. 
  • Demonstrated successful working knowledge and supervision of employees of various labor categories and skills in efforts. 
  • Knowledge of industry-accepted standards and best practices related to IT operations 
  • Knowledge of and experience with help desk support and operation. 
  • Knowledge of networking and network-based software applications. 
  • Demonstrated experience in an IT environment. 
  • Experience managing performance-based contracts. 
  • Demonstrated experience with the ITIL framework  
  • Coordinate all program and task order activities, deliverables, presentations, and briefings. 
  • Maintain program service levels and specifications. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field 
  • Project Management Institute certification or equivalent certification 
  • 8 years of experience in management of LAN support, system integration, complex network designs, network administration, telecommunications, and data processing projects 
  • 5 years of experience in management of broad-based IT programs 
  • Advanced customer service skills and training 
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 standards 
  • Able to pass Capitol Police Background Check.

Overview

We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team supporting the United States Senate, Washington, DC. 

 

This program provides comprehensive services for Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), supporting around roughly 12,000 users. The program covers the acquisition, delivery, configuration, integration, and upgrade of IT products, along with installation and on-site maintenance, including help desk services. Additional support includes hardware delivery, moves, upgrades in state offices, and technical assistance for systems, ensuring efficient, secure, and up-to-date IT infrastructure. 

The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Manager in overseeing and executing the program, ensuring it meets its goals, timelines, and budget. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, managing project teams, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and addressing any issues that arise. Support strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring to ensure the program's success. Act as a bridge between the Program Manager and the team, help implement strategies, track progress, and maintain documentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
