Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of mid-level and junior telecommunications/electronics technicians to ensure project requirements are successfully executed
  • Provides telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures
  • Provides consultation in the organizing of telecommunications installations on-site
  • Lead Survey and Design efforts for LAN and WLAN modernization efforts specifically focused on the telecommunications infrastructure
  • Installation of network routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points
  • Designs and optimize physical network topology between nodes and the network with the use of wires, cables, etc.
  • Will access the L1 physical network connectivity and available pathways to outlying buildings
  • Bond and ground or ensure proper bonding and grounding of network infrastructure
  • Test fiber and/or copper telecommunications and power equipment/systems following standard test procedures
  • Ensure Cybersecurity requirements are met for all installed components
  • Support development of Implementation Plans and other documentation as required by the PWS
  • Support development of a List of Installation Materials necessary to complete the installation
  • Install life safety materials in all penetrations (new or reutilized) in each location CMR/SEA, rack and equipment grounding and fire stop systems.
  • Neatly secure existing cables only when necessary to properly install new cable and equipment.
  • Complete core drills as required for cable installation
  • Assist electronics engineers with physical installation of switches and install new fiber optic patch cables
  • Creates list of materials and list of install task for government turn in

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 2 years of telecommunications /electronics vocational training or professional certification ( from an ABET accredited technical school) or equivalent military school and > 10 years’ experience.
  • A substitution for training may be applied with 15 years of experience.
  • BICSI Technician Certification.
  • IT Level-II Cert Preferred
  • Secret Clearance required
  • Passport Preferred

Overview

We are seekingInfrastructure Lead  to support the DHA LAN/WLAN Modernization Program. 

 

This program provides direct support to the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command Fort Detrick Engineering Directorate in their mission to support the DHA LAN/WLAN Modernization Program. Requirements include surveying, designing/engineering, procurement, installation, implementation, and project management services related to the expansion, modernization, or replacement of LAN/WLAN infrastructure at Military Treatment Facilities and associated outlying medical facilities / Geographically Separated Unit (GSU) locations. Work locations are in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
