Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a small team of field service technicians at customer locations throughout the United States
  • Conduct network discovery to determine equipment needs at customer sites
  • Develop network designs based upon survey results and customer requirements
  • Perform hands-on configuration of wired infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and wireless access points across multiple manufacturers (Catalyst, Meraki, Juniper, Aruba, or others as assigned)
  • Orchestrate network cutovers between legacy and new infrastructure following an established procedure
  • Complete circuit test and turn up procedures
  • Troubleshoot customer network connectivity issues as assigned
  • Perform proactive network monitoring via vendor cloud management platforms such as Meraki, Mist, and Aruba Central
  • Develop/update procedures relevant to BU11 projects/programs
  • Ability to work both within a team and individually with minimal supervision
  • Manage communications between our team and the field technicians
  • Take direction from, and provide updates to, the program leadership team
  • Maintain accountability of assigned equipment
  • Complete reports and other project documents in a professional, timely manner, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be willing to travel up to 75%
  • 3-5 years of experience in LAN/WLAN networking
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, and Aruba equipment
  • Familiarity with network design and implementation methodology and concepts
  • Experience leading or supporting teams, projects, and programs
  • Active Secret security clearance highly desirable
  • ACAS knowledge a bonus
  • Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Must reside within the Continental United States
  • Must be able to obtain Security+ certification within 6 months of start date
  • Must be able to obtain a USPS security clearance
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screening

CERTIFICATIONS

  • IATII (8570/8140) certifications or vendor specific certifications from Juniper, Cisco, and/or Aruba relevant to the role are highly desirable

Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS).

 

In this role, you will be supporting LAN/WiFi refresh projects at USPS facilities across the United States. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, serving as the site lead during new equipment installations, performing hands on and remote configuration and troubleshooting on customer networks, orchestrating network cutover activities, completing network design activities, and/or completing on-site surveys.
