Responsibilities & Qualifications

 


TekSynap is seeking a seasoned Vice President to lead and manage the Business Unit for our Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), 4th Estate, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) portfolios. This role will be responsible for ensuring the operational excellence, delivery, growth, and profitability across these critical accounts. The VP will leverage exceptional customer engagement skills, personnel management, business capture expertise, and financial acumen to drive success and align with TekSynap’s strategic objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with senior stakeholders within DLA, 4th Estate, and DISA. Act as the primary point of contact for customer satisfaction, contract performance, and future opportunity alignment.
  • Personnel Management: Lead and mentor a team of program managers, project managers, and operational staff, ensuring high performance across contracts. Support professional development, manage team resources, and drive accountability within the portfolio.
  • Business Capture and Growth: Drive capture strategy and new business development within DLA, 4th Estate, and DISA. Identify growth opportunities within existing contracts, collaborate with the business development team on new proposals, and develop win strategies for upcoming contract opportunities. Fully engage in proposal, pricing and growth activities.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for each portfolio, aligning with TekSynap’s broader goals. Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and adjust tactics to adapt to shifting priorities and customer needs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with contract requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies across the DLA, 4th Estate, and DISA portfolios. Proactively address risks to ensure consistent, reliable service delivery.
  • P&L Management: Oversee financial performance and accountability for DLA, 4th Estate, and DISA portfolios. Manage revenue growth, profit margins, and ensure alignment with corporate goals. Regularly analyze financial metrics to make strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare budget forecasts, analyze P&L statements, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee billing, collections, and resource allocation to meet financial objectives and optimize operational efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An executive presence with the highest ethical standards, good presentation skills and the ability to make things happen in an environment of rapid growth.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with government officials and teammates during periods of high stress and tight deadlines.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the DoD IT sector, with specific experience managing DLA, 4th Estate, or DISA portfolios.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Business or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the DoD IT sector, with specific experience managing DLA, 4th Estate, or DISA portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships within the federal defense sector, particularly within DLA, DISA, or 4th Estate agencies.
  • Proven personnel management experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams and achieving operational goals.
  • Strong business capture and growth skills, with a history of securing new contracts and expanding existing accounts.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and making strategic financial decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Currently hold a DoD Secret clearance or have ability to obtain

Certifications:

  • Project Management institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent/recognized program management certification.
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT/IAM Level II/III certification (preferred).
