Network Administrator - Journeyman

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assures that all network operations are operational, and all engineering solutions are implemented successfully network solutions from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks; Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents; Must have demonstrated experience identifying, developing, and implementing engineering change solutions and new technology and solutions on a large enterprise national scale
• Demonstrated ability to work in a customer environment collaboratively through constraints to meet mission milestones.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills and management to include presentation and experience discussing technology at large government agency CIO/CTO executive level

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Clearance: Secret or TS
• Required Certs – DOD 8570 level II (Security +)
• Minimum (5) years’ experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with configuring switches, routers, network appliances
• Experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues
• Experience with Cisco VoIP desk phone troubleshooting
• Experience with Cisco VoIP configuration/implementation and monitoring

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Cisco, Junos, or Aruba certifications.
• Experience with the following:

-  Configuration and deployment of crypto devices

-  GEM One application management of encryption devices

Network Management Applications

-  Cisco Prime maintenance and management

-  Cisco ISE maintenance and management

TekSynap is seeking an experienced Network Administrator - Journeyman with a background in supporting cryptographic devices and DoD circuits. The successful candidate will be expected to implement engineering solutions and assure network operational stability. Must have experience supporting network operations and maintenance, new engineering change task orders, technical refresh, new system improvement and modernization activities, and other major changes that occur.

The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: Secret Clearance $101,000.00-119,000.00, Top Secret Clearance $110,000.00-128,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
