Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) and business resumption plans across mainframe and client-server platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of DR strategies with enterprise risk management and continuity objectives.
  • Coordinate and monitor simulation and functional testing of disaster recovery plans to validate effectiveness and identify gaps.
  • Develop and maintain DR program documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, training materials, and test schedules.
  • Administer quality assurance programs to evaluate disaster recovery readiness and compliance across the organization.
  • Work closely with technical and business units to identify mission-critical systems and dependencies, ensuring appropriate recovery prioritization.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIAs) to guide recovery planning and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of an enterprise-wide business resumption plan, ensuring up-to-date documentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead training initiatives and awareness campaigns to build organizational resilience and readiness.
  • Ensure that all DR activities comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Track and report on DR performance metrics, testing results, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements related to business continuity and disaster recovery compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:

    • 5 years of relevant experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT contingency planning.
    • Hands-on experience coordinating disaster recovery activities across mainframe and distributed environments.
    • Proven ability to develop, execute, and evaluate disaster recovery testing plans.
    • Familiarity with developing DR policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Experience conducting business impact analyses and implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Knowledge of disaster recovery frameworks, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Strong collaboration skills to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills to support plan development and audit readiness.

    • DoD 8570 IAM Level III Baseline Certification
      • Certified Information Systems Manger (CISM)
      • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
      • GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
      • Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)

    Clearance:

    • Secret - IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation
