Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform engineering analysis, design, and planning to evaluate, select, and enhance Enterprise-level Storage Area Network (SAN) systems.
  • Administer and maintain SAN infrastructure, including configuration and technical support of all SAN components.
  • Troubleshoot SAN hardware/software issues, including storage arrays, fiber switches, and associated hardware.
  • Configure and administer data restore and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Manage and operate enterprise data backup systems and clients/servers.
  • Configure and support file sharing on Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices using CIFS (Common Internet File System), NFS (Network File System), and SMB (Server Message Block) protocols.
  • Integrate storage into new server builds across multiple platforms (Windows, UNIX, Linux), including storage allocation and change control.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, routine equipment checks, and preventive maintenance on storage systems.
  • Consolidate and optimize storage environments across platforms and architectures.
  • Conduct storage analysis, capacity and performance planning, and produce reports outlining system health, usage, and recommended enhancements.
  • Maintain and develop documentation, including standard operating procedures and configuration change records.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging SAN technologies to support proactive enterprise enhancements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise SAN technologies, including:
      • Fiber Channel zoning
      • iSCSI (Internet Small Computer Systems Interface)
      • FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet)
      • HBA/CNA (Host Bus Adapter/Converged Network Adapter)
      • RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks)
      • LUN (Logical Unit Number) provisioning
      • NAS (Network Attached Storage) file sharing protocols
    • Experience managing enterprise hierarchical storage systems and enterprise backup/restore services using tools such as Veritas NetBackup.
    • At least 2 years of experience working with Cloud vendor storage/backup solutions (e.g., AWS S3/Glacier, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage).

     

    Certifications

    • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, such as:
      • Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security)
      • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
      • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
      • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
      • CompTIA Security+ Continuing Education (Security+ CE)
      • Certified Network Defender (CND)
      • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

    Clearance:

    • Secret - IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation
