Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

o Coordinate daily activities and deliverables of the assigned program(s) and manage

relationships with scientific program leads and key program stakeholders.

o Develop project charters, plans, and schedules.

o Support senior-level working groups and meetings, including agenda setting, meeting

minute capture, action item tracking, coordination, logistics, and materials preparation.

o Monitor program schedules and budgets, as well as other activities related to the

program.

o Develop monthly status reports with metrics and analysis to support forward-looking

decision-making based on data; coordinate with other entities to ensure status

reporting requirements are met.

o Monitor and evaluate program activities to determine effectiveness and make

recommendations for changes and/or improvements when necessary.

o Also includes project coordinator and project manager responsibilities.

 

Qualifications:

o This role requires a bachelor's degree in an applicable field (e.g., science-related or

public health-related field). A master's degree or doctorate degree is preferred.

o Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

o Minimum of 15 years of demonstrable experience in managing and executing projects of

a scientific nature, ensuring they met all scope, schedule, resource, and quality

expectations through the entire project lifecycle.

o Minimum of 8 years of demonstrable experience in developing project management

processes, tools, and templates to strengthen an organization’s project management

approach.

o Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in serving as a team lead / project lead

for a project management team.

o Operational program/project management experience for a federal agency strongly

preferred.

o Experience with OTA preferred.

  • Location: Remote - Hybrid Bethesda, MD
  • Type of environment: predominantly be performed remotely, on-site attendance may still be required for meetings or events at the NIH Bethesda Campus or at NIH off-campus/ leased facilities in the Washington DC Metro Area.  
  • Noise level: Medium
  • Work schedule: Schedule is day shift Monday – Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Amount of Travel: Less than 25%
