Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full Lifecycle Asset Management: meticulously maintain an inventory tracking system of over 8,000 IT assets supporting the National Military Command Center (NMCC) and associated Pentagon offices located in and around the National Capital Region.
  • End-to-End Coordination: manage all stockroom operations, including receiving, asset tagging, securing storage, and proper disposal of equipment according to strict government guidelines.
  • Reporting and Analysis: generate and deliver detailed asset inventory reports for critical infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, printers, telephone switches, multimedia devices, and servers.
  • Stakeholder Support: serve as a primary point of contact for asset management, providing a high level of customer service to leadership and technical teams within the NMCC, OSW, and JCS.
  • High-Stakes Inventory Control: perform regular, in-person physical inventory of assets located within theNMCC and the executive offices of the Secretary of War, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and office in and around the National Capital Region.
  • Secure Logistics: process equipment returns and repairs in accordance with program budgeting guidelines and handles the secure delivery of equipment as needed.
  • Compliance and Security: adhere to all SCIF security policies and practice Two-Person Integrity (TPI) for the handling of classified materials and sensitive equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in IT asset management, inventory control, or a related logistics field.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass all required customer-mandated security and drug screenings.
  • Direct experience working within the Pentagon, a military command center, or a similar high-security DoD/IC environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with SCIF security procedures and the handling of classified IT equipment.
  • Experience with specific IT asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, Sunflower, or other enterprise-level inventory software).
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles for IT Asset Management (ITAM).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional organizational skills and experience using Microsoft Excel or other software to manage and report on large data sets

Overview

We are seeking an Asset Manager to join our team supporting AFNCR (Air Force National Capital Region) in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will be a key member of a team providing direct support to Headquarters Air Force (HAF), the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), and the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). This role operates in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where the senior leaders and national defense missions require that operations never fail. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle management of thousands of critical IT assets, ensuring perfect accountability and operational readiness in one of the nation's most secure facilities. This is not a standard logistics role; it is a high-visibility position requiring exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to operate within stringent security protocols.

 

The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR, missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas required are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E); and National Military Command Center (NMCC). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.
