Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications that support data review and link analysis across large datasets
  • Build and enhance backend services, APIs, and database-driven applications
  • Develop user-facing features and tools that enable analysts to easily interpret and connect data
  • Perform data modeling and implement data-linking logic to support investigative use cases
  • Support full system lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and ongoing O&M
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, optimize performance, and implement enhancements
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and iterative delivery
  • Conduct technical research and contribute to continuous improvement of application capabilities
  • Ensure adherence to secure development practices and government cybersecurity standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance required.
  • Strong experience in full-stack development using languages such as Python, Java, or .NET (C# preferred)
  • Proficiency in database design, SQL, and working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience developing APIs and data-driven applications
  • Ability to design and implement data-linking or relationship-mapping solutions (e.g., entity resolution, graph concepts)
  • Experience building user-facing analytical tools (e.g., dashboards, search, data visualization interfaces)
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience supporting both development and operations/maintenance (O&M) environments
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and working in regulated/government environments
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and up to eight (8) years of relevant experience.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development and sustainment of investigative applications that enable law enforcement personnel to analyze and connect large, complex datasets. This is a hands-on role focused on building database review and data-linking tools, with an initial emphasis on new development followed by ongoing operations, maintenance, and enhancements. The role requires a strong full-stack engineering background and the ability to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions in a secure, mission-focused environment.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $93,000.00 - $125,000.00.  The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
