Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. 
  • Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. 
  • Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a data base environment. 
  • Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of data bases. 
  • Ensures economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards. 
  • Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. 
  • Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. 
  • Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. 
  • Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation. 
  • Perform Database Analyst/Programmer - Senior duties for the DIA CIO Infrastructure Services program in accordance with approved technical, security, quality, configuration, and change-control processes. 
  • Coordinate assigned activities with Government representatives, program leadership, engineering, operations, cybersecurity, service owners, and other mission partners. 
  • Maintain accurate technical, operational, and status documentation; identify risks, issues, dependencies, and corrective actions affecting assigned work. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required. A polygraph will be required for the position, and the employee must obtain and maintain all customer-mandated system and facility access. 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an area applicable to the position plus at least 6 years of relevant experience. 
    • OR Qualifying education and experience combinations: HS/GED plus 10 years; associate plus 8 years; bachelor plus 6 years; master plus 4 years; PhD plus 2 years. 
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification minimum (ex. Security+); transition to the Government-designated DoD 8140 work-role qualification is required. 
  • Demonstrated senior-level proficiency performing Database Analyst/Programmer - Senior responsibilities in classified or mission-critical information technology environments. 
  • Considered a recognized authority within the Company. 
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an integrated technical team. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One or more of the following certifications are desired: Security+, Oracle OCP, Microsoft database, or PostgreSQL certification. 
  • A certification satisfying the next higher applicable DoD 8570 category or the corresponding DoD 8140 proficiency level is preferred. 
  • Current training and hands-on experience with the tools, platforms, and mission processes used by the assigned service lane are preferred.

The DIA CIO Infrastructure Services program provides secure enterprise infrastructure engineering, operations, and technology-refresh support across classified environments. This senior Data / Storage position performs integration, installation, refresh, and surge execution and supports reliable, secure, and mission-focused delivery in coordination with Government leads, program leadership, service lanes, and technical teams.

  • Type of environment: Secure contractor office/SCIF; on-site work is required. Remote work is not authorized for classified duties.

  • Work schedule: Full-time 4x10 swing shift, Sun-Wed, approximately 14:00-00:00 local. Schedule may change, and evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call work may be required to meet mission needs.
  • Amount of Travel: Up to 10% CONUS travel to Government, contractor, or mission-support locations may be required.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
