RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop detailed technical design plans for inside plant infrastructure, including cable routing, termination points, and equipment layout. - Create comprehensive as-built drawings and documentation for all installations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. - Perform installation, operation, maintenance, and engineering tasks related to cable trays, copper, coax, and fiber cables within Telecommunication Rooms (TRs) and other designated areas. - Conduct on-site surveys and provide detailed reports on survey findings and upcoming plans. - Develop and implement maintenance plans to address infrastructure corrections. - Ensure compliance with ANSI/TIA/EIA standards and other relevant industry guidelines. - Maintain records and configuration management of all decommissioning activities. - Perform quality assurance checks before equipment/installation is released for customer connectivity. - Adhere to safety procedures for all maintenance, installation, and cleanup activities within TRs and designated areas. - Report all critical incidents and safety concerns to appropriate personnel promptly. - Coordinate installation and maintenance of outside plant infrastructure, including manholes, handholes, and OSP facilities. - Provide daily updates, conduct meetings, and interface with vendors and utility officials as necessary. - Process permits for WHS and state/local government regulations and track approvals/denials. - Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for outside plant projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. - Provide point-to-point dark fiber leases for Government facilities in the NCR region. - Perform fiber restoration, splicing, testing, and routine maintenance as required. - Ensure compliance with lease agreements and provide timely support for any service disruptions. RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as the central coordinator for JNOSC operations, overseeing both Tier III service response/help desk and service restoral team activities. - Ensure smooth coordination with other JSP Operations teams as specified (servers, applications, storage area network, backup and recovery, facilities, messaging). - Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance activities for the JSP Transport Network. - Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports. - Coordinate project activities, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely completion. - Facilitate regular project meetings and communication with stakeholders. - Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. - Develop risk management plans and implement mitigation strategies. - Monitor project performance indicators and adjust plans as needed to address potential risks. - Establish quality standards and ensure adherence to project requirements. - Conduct regular quality reviews and audits to assess project deliverables. - Implement corrective actions to address any deviations from quality standards. - Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and decision logs. - Prepare regular status reports and presentations for project stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements. - Manage project change requests and assess their impact on scope, schedule, and budget. - Develop change management plans and coordinate implementation with stakeholders. - Communicate changes effectively to ensure understanding and buy-in from project team members and stakeholders. - Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects. RESPONSIBILITIES - Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards. - Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters. - Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure. - Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards. - Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA’s STIG prior to deployment. - Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations. - Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters. - Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs. - Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs. - Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times. - Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure. - Dress, terminate, and test cables and components. - Ability to work with power tools and ladders. - Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance. - Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems. - Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
