RESPONSIBILITIES - Collect and analyze network and/or host artifacts from a variety of sources to include logs, system images and packet captures to characterize activity, determine root cause, operational impact, and to enable rapid remediation and/or mitigation of cyber threats within the Enterprise Network through the investigation process. - Perform cyber incident triage; to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifying the specific vulnerability; and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation. - Provide expert technical support and perform real-time cyber defense incident handling (e.g., forensic collections, intrusion correlation and tracking, threat analysis, and direct system remediation) tasks to support subordinate organizations and system owners. - Manage and document cyber defense incidents from initial detection through final resolution methods. - Maintain an average of at least two new detection use cases per month during each year of contract execution. Detection use cases shall be based on current threats, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, or Government direction. - Maintain metadata for all detection use cases to include use case owner, number of false positives identified, number of true positives identified, and average time to execute (based on incident detection monitoring analyst feedback). - Analyze all completed incident records and make improvements to related detection use cases. - Conduct refinements to correlation rules, filters, signatures, or plays to enhance overall effectiveness by lowering false-positive rates. Track and validate refinement requests and provide metrics on these activities monthly. - Assist with develop methods for automating the execution of incident detection use cases that result in false-positive rates below 10%. Provide monthly reports on new automation actions and their results. - At the direction and under the supervision of Government personnel, validate the effectiveness of any plays created by emulating adversary tactics to trigger the necessary alerts (blue team). - Demonstrate effectiveness by creating detection use cases that successfully detect Red Team (penetration testing) activity. - Utilize the MITRE ATT&CK matrix and other threat frameworks to develop detection use cases. Continually refine these processes with the goal of automating their execution. - Provide subject matter expertise in creation, editing, and management of signatures, rules and filters for specialized network defense systems including but not limited to network and ESS IDS, IPS, firewall, web application firewall, proxy and SIEM systems. - Analyze SIEM views daily to ensure views support detection and response operations. Modify SIEM views to eliminate false-positive or unnecessary alerts.   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 - Experience with cyber security architecture principles that achieve cybersecurity framework goals. - Minimum of a Top Secret Clearance.  - DOD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Analyst Certification      

This position will support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.   RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. The CSFC Network Engineer would assist and support with the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions used to secure government customers' classified data and networks. RESPONSIBILITIES The Storage Administratoris expected to be able to:  Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure. Provide technical support, guidance and hands-on delivery in the planning, implementation and ongoing operations. The Systems Engineer shall participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements. The Systems Engineer shall document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results. Depicts complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and status to project teams.  Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:  - Provide administrative and technical support for current and future storage technologies used by NGA.  - Create, test, implement, and remove backup policies as required for various NGA systems including, but not limited to Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems.  - Install, configure, and remove physical and virtual appliances and servers used for NGA backup operations.  - Perform file and system level restoration using provided backup tools as required.  - Utilize Service Now to document restore requests  - Provide expert knowledge on IT storage vendors in use by NGA: Hitachi, NetApp, Dell EMC, Dell, HPE, Brocade, and Cloud agnostic 3rd party technologies such as Azure Storage and AWS Storage.  - Provide expert knowledge in NGA’s current storage monitoring solutions including, but not limited to Brocade Network Advisor, Brocade SANnav, NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager, NetApp IQ, NetApp OnCommand Insight, EMC Unisphere Central, HP 3PAR Management Server, and Hitachi Command Suite.  - Daily operations for storage administration include:  - Storage Array administration  - LUN / Volume administration  - Fiber switch administration  - Storage File Sharing  - Security Implementation  - Data Migrations  - Pilot Projects / Proof of Concept  - Cloud Tier support and administration  - Other duties as assigned  - - Provide on-call Support to NGA Enterprise Storage mission 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365/366 days per year, including weekends and holidays is required as part of a weekly rotating schedule.
